MITOSIS CUPCAKES
These were so fun to create! Using cake mix, cupcake molds, and a few sprinkles on icing, I made these with the boyfriend's help. Although they were fun to make, I couldn't bring myself to eat a process so crucial to life... so my mom and cousins ate MITOSIS.
Here you see a pre-prophase (eh... let's just say prophase) cupcake with replicated DNA (chromosomes that look like X) and a nuclear envelope about to disintegrate.
Then you see the chromosomes aligned at the metaphase plate followed by their separation in anaphase. Last but not least stands telophase with two daughter cells--cytokinesis will follow.
I love being a biology major.
Ciao!
